My next camera will be either a Canon or a Nikon; still Japanese, I suppose. This should turn off the error message. Get hold of this tool for your pc. Here's the solution that finally worked for me.

I am well understand how it feels when this message appear. display should show "usb mode normal" ! I have already formatted the card in my camera, so there is almost no chance to recover anything. click site I am not happy to see so many people with the same issue and no quick and easy fix available.

I read all comments, but of no use.

Tried using this and gave message saying the Disk Management is corrupt on the card. The time now is 03:35 AM. I lost pictures but got it working again as follows.Put memory stick in my sony Clie PDA and used MS import application to use Memory stick as removeable disk.Accessed this 'disk' I then used the camera to format the stick again (had tried to re-format using cmd on WinXP earlier without luck), and the camera's working fine!
