outlook express tools accounts properties servers Thanks Ray, but in and out is the same - mail.btinternet.com, things I have looked at have been server authentication or secure password authentication but Go to your ISP's home page and find the address of the SMTP server. Yes, a server that can do authenticated smtp and responds on a port other than 25 would probably solve your problem.
If you use the same away-from-home connection frequently, substitute the SMTP server belonging to that connection. I am still getting that same warning, no error, just this: the same bright yellow triangle and it says some errors occured while processing the requested tasks... If I recall correctly, there was a URL provided the error message their server returned after they enforced port 25 getting blocked. Change ONLY that server in Outlook express, referred to as outgoing or SMTP server. Nothing has been changed. You are going to send email using Bell South SMTP server and the Bell South username and password.
