I'm using Nero and the "IMAPI" step didn't help either. click site Changing from Memorex CD-R 40X 700MB to Verbatim Digital Vinyl CD-R 52X 700MB solved the problem. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Sony/AW-G170A/files.html Before trying the firmware, have Nero output the files to the HDD, install ImgBurn and select 'Write files/folders to disc'. so many people have gotten their drives fixed from such simple fixes!

Generally the "SK=3h/POWER CALIBRATION AREA ERROR" error is related to lack of power. AGAIN SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH ! My DVD burner & software are working perfectly now.
And now it's ok. Why it sees it as SCSI? SUCCESS!!!! Try updating the CD/DVD burning software to the most recent version.
