didnt work. i whacked my trv245e after reading this thread. Although it worked OK with my camera, remember that things can get BETTER ... Wish I would have known this trick sooner. I have owned this camera for about five years and have always chalked that error code up a bad tape or something. But the white tube is loose and I always check whether it lost! I have never had the code when I pick it up and go directly to record mode??? I would not have believe it if I didnt try it!
Incredible! It seemed to go away.Maybe the gears are getting worn. I turn it on and it flashes this very quickly. C:31:42 No tape would work.

From the number of posts here, it's got to be a design fault! C:31:40 Haha! whether it will stay like this is doubtful. So, when did we start to have to smack things on the side again to make them work?

I have been beating my handicam for years before I found this site. Huss Tue, 28 Feb 2006 16:43:25 -0800 OOOOOHHHH MYYYYY GOSSHHHHH! In other machines using gears etc, I find the problems are usually dust in sensors, and grease migrating to where it's not meant to be. Smacking can cause permanent damage.
