Also, I made recovery discs for my Vaio the day I bought it a few years ago, but now I cannot find them. If the repair doesn't take, then reformat the hard drive and install a fresh operating system. I often get through disk one but never through disk two and have never gotten to disk three. If the recovery discs don't solve the problem and you still receive the same error, the hard drive is possibly damaged.
