I did too and found that you need to do this in two steps. First Select LPD and LPR and save the changes. my friend called when she tried to print something and it has crashed again .... Spooler Subsystem App Stopped Working Server 2008 Under Service status, click Stop, and then click OK. THIS IS THE ONLY FIX THAT WORKED for my HP laserjet 1020. I think problem initiated by installation of new networked printer (HP Photosmart 7510), tho don't yet know why it caused problems.

Check the files you are printing to be sure that the edges of graphics on the page do not fall outside the displayed page in MS Office.

Maybe getting rid of thisfile, whose only apparent purpose is to cause frustration, will also work in other windows versions, I don't know. I understand HP has patches for its printers.
